Area Coordinators
- On-call for campus on a rotating basis with the other ACs.
- Walk through the buildings
- Be on campus by 10:00 p.m. (when on duty)
- Carry a cell phone while on-call, typically 1 week a month
- Attend weekly meeting with the Associate Dean of Students.
- Supervise (8-15)Resident Advisors and (2-3)Resident Directors
- Facilitate weekly meetings with Resident Advisors and Resident Directors
- Evaluate RAs and RDs once per semester.
- Facilitate RA/RD training with the other Area Coordinators and the Associate Dean of Students
- Assist with RA/RD
- Develop a PR element to your individual area.
- Facilitate opening and closing of halls
- Maintain paper work for halls (fire safety, health and safety)
- Facilitate key distribution
- Facilitate room changes
- Prepare on-duty rosters
- Attend to the issues in residence halls.
- Attend 1 Student Life meeting per month
- Other duties as assigned.
Secondary support areas may include:
Residence Life Coordinator
- Develop programs to enrich student wellness.
- Facilitate programming in the residence halls.
- Plan in-services for RAs and RDs
- Plan RD retreat
- Coordinate Grubfest
- Update the Residence Life handbook on a yearly basis
- Update marketing pieces for Residence Life
- Coordinate hiring of RA/RD’s
- Other duties as assigned
- Plan Friday Night programs
- Other duties as assigned
Greek Life Coordinator
- Advise Interfraternal and Panhellenic Councils
- Advise President’s Council
- Advise Five Fraternities and Four Sororities
- Plan and implement Greek Week
- Co-Advise Order of Omega
- Advise Greek Athletic Spirit Award Committee
- Advise the Greek Life Judicial Board
- Advise the National Pan-Hellenic Council Taskforce
- Plan the annual Greek Life Recognition banquet
- Administer Men’s and Women’s Formal Recruitment
- Plan the Presidents’ retreat
- Coordinate the Recruitment Counselor retreat
- Meet with Presidents twice a semester
- Other duties as assigned
Leadership Coordinator
- Advise and run the Harper Gatton Medallion Leadership Program (2 Credit Hour)
- Help teach Leadership Course
- Other duties as assigned
Campus Ministry Coordinator
The intern reports directly to the Campus Minister and to the Associate Dean
of Students
A Masters Level Degree is Required
Participation in a local church is expected
The Intern will assist the Campus Minister and Associate Campus Minister in loving students into a growing relationship with Christ. Emphasis is given on helping students to be formed spiritually into the likeness of Christ, encouraging students to discover their gifts and abilities in service to others, and challenging students to develop their leadership skills.
- Lead and advise students in all aspects of freshman ministry including:
- Work along with Freshman Family Group ‘Grandparents’ to train Parents (26 students in all) in leading weekly small group Bible study for over 100 freshmen
- Planning fellowship/fun events for freshmen
- Involving freshmen in community mission efforts
- Providing pastoral care and spiritual direction for freshmen and FFG leaders
- Participate in weekly campus ministry staff meetings, campus ministry student leadership team meetings, common ground worship, Sunday night FFG parent training and Monday night FFG group time
- Participate in Campus Ministry Staff retreats twice a semester and in Campus Ministry Leadership Team retreat once a semester
- Help students plan and lead a mission trip during a semester break
