  • Dojo - School
  • 'Os' - 'Yes', or 'I get it' (this is our standard response)
  • Gi - The outfit we wear
  • Kata - A series of moves designed to simulate battle against multiple opponents

Georgetown College Karate Club - Basics of Karate

The style of Karate we practice is called Shotokan. It comes from Japan, and is one of the largest styles worldwide. All rankings are internationally recognized by the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) and the Japan Karate Association.
