Utilizing this system is rather simple.
To get sound via the large mounted speakers in Asher 112, all you need to do is first unlock the sound cabinet. Locate the two RCA jacks on the wire coming from the front of the computer (not located in the sound cabinet). Next, locate the barrel connector (black with gold plated receptacles) that is connected to the wires coming from the “tape in” ports on the amplifier (the tape in ports are located on the far right of the amp). Simply connect the RCA plugs from the computer to the barrel connector such that the white plug connects to the white plug and the red plug connects to the red plug. Tada, all wired up.
Now turn on the amplifier via the middle light switch located on the right of the exterior of the sound cabinet. Flip the switch into the up position. You are now ready to begin playing sound. NOTE: this is a rather powerful amp, hence it doesn’t take much sound from the computer to make a rather loud sound come out of the speakers. I recommend you adjust the output volume on the computer so as to not deafen your audience. This can be accomplished by clicking the start button, then selecting All Programs, then selecting Accessories, then selecting Entertainment, and finally selecting Volume Control. Adjust the main volume (the slider on the far left of the panel) to about 2/3 of the way up. Second, adjust the WAVE volume to get the desired level of sound (note: the volume control will beep whenever you drag and release a slider, to give you an idea of the volume you have just set it for, although this sound is so brief it’s not a very good measure. I recommend playing a more continuous stream of sound, such as a song or whatever you need to hear sound from, to get a better idea of the volume). Once you have adjusted the volume, you are all finished.
A setup similar to Asher 112 will soon be available in all rooms listed above.
