The Mother's Circle Campaign

Honoring Mothers: Special People Forever Held Sacred in the Quiet Places of Our Hearts.

The Board of Directors of the Arboretum thinks that Mothers are Special and wants to do its part to honor them. We have developed an area of the Arboretum that is called The Mothers Circle. The centerpiece of the circle is a marble and bronze monument donated in part by Lexington Granite Company. As shown in the photograph, the monument consists of a marble pedestal topped by a bronze sculpture of geese in flight. A circle of bricks has been placed around the base of the monument and a brick walkway connects this circle to the Arboretum patio (the patio is not shown). In the future, the cement slab of the patio may also be bricked over.

We hope that you agree with us that mothers are indeed special and will make a donation to the Mothers Circle Campaign.

Donors to the arboretum may honor their mothers in the following ways:

  • Benefactor: A mother's name will be engraved at a high position on the monument itself for $1000

  • Patron: A mother's name will be engraved on the monument at a lower position for $500

  • Supporter: A mother's name will be engraved on a 4 x 8 brick for $100

  • Contributor: A mother's name will be engraved on a 4 x 4 brick for $50

A certificate will be issued to the mother being honored, or to her heirs, recognizing that she will be honored in the Mothers Circle. The donor(s) will receive a letter acknowledging their gift.

Names will be engraved on a regular basis as donations are received. Mothers and donors will receive a letter when their names have been engraved.

An annual ceremony will be held on Mother's Day honoring those whose names have been added to the Circle in the past year.

Mothers hold a special place in our hearts. The Mothers Circle is a special place to honor them.
