Ms. Buckman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown College. While in college, she was a member of Phi Beta Lambda and Alpha Lambda Delta honorary. She was also a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and the Women’s Athletic Association. She majored in Accounting and minored in French. After graduating from Georgetown College, Ms. Buckman worked one year for a local CPA firm. She prepared tax returns and worked on audits. Upon receiving the M.S. in Accountancy degree from the University of Kentucky, Ms. Buckman taught accounting at Brescia College in Owensboro, Kentucky for two years. She then came back to her alma mater, Georgetown College, to teach accounting. Although she has an interest in various areas of accounting, cost and managerial accounting are her favorites. She pursued the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification and became a CMA in 1998. |
