Scott Takacs is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Management, and has been with Georgetown College since 1997.   His research interests include the marketing of information and consumer behavior toward technology and information use, especially medical technology.  His research has been published in The Journal of Consumer Marketing, Marketing Intelligence and Planning.  In addition to his publications, he has served as Vice-President of the American Marketing Association Doctoral Students Group, and Administrative Coordinator and Communications Coordinator of The American Marketing Association Technology, Marketing, and Innovation Special Interest Group (TechSIG).   He has also served the college, including serving on numerous committees, working with the Effective Marketing Implementation Team, helping to develop the <http://equinescholars.georgetowncollege.edu/> Equine Scholars Program.   His teaching interests are varied, and include developing and teaching classes in the United Kingdom (4 times) and teaching in the <www.kygsp.org>  Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program. 

Dr. Takacs earned his Ph.D. in marketing from Florida State University, his MBA from Miami University (Ohio), and his B.S. B.A. from Ohio State.  He also has work experience including restaurant management and marketing. 

Dr. Takacs has been married to his wife Kathryn for just under ten years, and in his spare time he enjoys woodworking, teaching a high school CCD class, and reading science fiction, and looks forward to the next adventures life has to offer.
