What is the Foust Cultural Enrichment Program?
The Foust Cultural Enrichment Program is designed to supplement the educational experience offered to Georgetown College students. The program includes a broad selection of cultural events throughout the year, including worship experiences, lectures, plays, concerts and art exhibits.
A minimum of six CEP events should be attended during each semester of full-time enrollment to ensure timely completion of the degree program. It is the student's responsibility to monitor individual progress in meeting this graduation requirement.
CEP events are classified in four groups:
- Group A of worship experiences;
- Group B, lectures;
- Group C, music; and
- Group D, art, theatre and all other events.
The group designation for each event is indicated. A student may receive credit for no more than 24 events from one area in completing the Cultural Enrichment Program.
CEP credit is not offered for off-campus events, with the exception of events that are hosted by a Georgetown College faculty member and have received committee approval in advance.
Events designated on the calendar by an asterisk are considered campus-wide events. During these events, no meetings will be scheduled and most offices will be closed to enable students, faculty and administration to attend.
Students will receive a ticket to complete and turn in at the conclusion of each event. These are then tabulated and a cumulative report of the total number of CEP events attended is made a part of the semester grade report and the adviser's information sheet. It is the student's responsibility to monitor CEP progress toward fulfilling the required number of events for Graduation. Students may view CEP totals by looking at the list made available in the Registrar's Office or by calling x8024. CEP totals can also be found on PAWS.
Attendants are not permitted to accept more than one ticket from each
student, and tickets will not be accepted until the event has concluded.
Questions regarding attendance should be directed to the Registrar's Office.
Refer to the College Catalog regarding policy for CEP deficiencies.
