The Department of Communication and Media Studies offers a range of introductory and advanced courses in the areas of interpersonal and corporate communication studies, media studies, and rhetorical studies. The degree program is designed to provide students with a solid background for career and graduate and professional education. Students may take courses from all areas of the curriculum,. and may also choose to specialize in one or more areas. This fast-growing discipline provides career opportunities in advertising, business, education, entertainment, health care, government, human resources, media, public relations, and a variety of other fields. The Communication and Media Studies Department faculty seek to challenge students to develop broad theoretical and practical knowledge of human communication, culminating in a senior-year capstone experience in which students will demonstrate their ability to complete a comprehensive project, which may include a senior thesis, internship, media project, or other work. |
