Chris has a wide range of teaching experience in
communication discipline. Currently, Chris teaches upper level courses in
organizational communication, conflict management, group dynamics, gender
and relationship communication. In addition to teaching, Chris serves as
department chair.
Chris engages in research synthesizing four
distinct areas in the communication field: Relationship maintenance,
friendship, culture, and conflict. He has begun to construct an extensive
record of refereed articles and convention papers--with several articles
currently under review for publication in reputable journals.
Chris has used his research experience in the
private sector as a communication consultant to several businesses and
corporations across the US. Most recently, Chris has worked with middle and
high school administrators and counselors to aid in the implementation of peer
mediation programs in several Kentucky school districts. Chris enjoys working
with "at-risk" juveniles in effectively managing conflict and peer
relations.
On a more personal note, Chris is a native of
Louisville, KY; has a Yellow Lab named Maggie, enjoys exercise/fitness, and
general outdoor activities.
