Getting Involved
English majors and minors at Georgetown College will discover that there are many ways to become involved with faculty outside the classroom. Several organizations are sponsored by members of the English Department.
For those who wish to develop their writing skills, there is no better route to involvement than The Georgetonian, the student newspaper, sponsored by Dr. Rosemary Allen. Participation is open to all students on campus. Anyone interested in becoming involved should call Dr. Allen at 8131 or The Georgetonian office at 8150.
The honorary organization for those interested in literature and writing is Sigma Tau Delta, sponsored by Dr. Steven Carter and Dr. Holly Barbaccia. The meetings are open to everyone interested; full membership requires students to meet membership criteria. Sigma Tau Delta also publishes Inscape, the campus literary journal.
Dr. Barbara Burch is the sponsor of the Georgetown College Academic Team. Those interested in competing for spots on this state-championship team should contact Dr. Burch at 8130.
