Q. When do classes begin for the new '03 freshmen class?
A. The first day of class is Monday, August 25, 2003.
Freshmen
can move in the residence halls on Thursday,
August 21,
2003. Most upperclassmen move in
on Saturday,
August 23,
2003. Freshman Orientation begins on Thursday,

Q. Should my son or daughter bring a
computer
to Georgetown College?
A. Many students bring computers, but
Georgetown College has numerous
computer laboratories throughout
campus.

Q. Is a meal plan required if my son or daughter
lives on
campus?
A. Yes! All students who live on campus are required to
have
a
meal
plan.

Q. How much do books cost a semester?
A. Approximately $400-$600.

Q. How much money should my son or daughter need for a
typical week at Georgetown College?
A. $15-$25

Does Georgetown College have cable TV in the
residence
hall rooms?
A.
Yes. Also, there are computer hookups in
every room.

Q. How safe is the Georgetown College campus?
A.
Very safe but students need to lock their doors as a general
precaution! The College provides a well
lit campus at
night, an escort service to any location on
campus,
emergency call boxes strategically located throughout
campus, security officers
on duty 24-hours a day, and
keys
to residence halls
that only students have.

Q. Can my son or daughter get a job on campus?
A. Yes they can if they have received federal college work study
(CWS) on their financial aid award. They will attend
a job
fair at the
beginning of the semester to secure an
on-campus job. Those students who have
college
employment also may work on-campus. Students who have
neither CWS or college employment must wait
until
mid-October or November until all of the Federal CWS and
college employment students have been offered jobs
before they have an opportunity to work.

Q. What is the first step to be eligible for financial
aid?
A. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
every February starting with your son’s or daughter’s senior
year in high school The FAFSA can be picked up at any
high school Guidance Office or college Financial Aid Office.
It can also be filled out online. The FAFSA should be filed
regardless of income.

Q. Who can apply for an upperclassman scholarship?
A. Any student who is not already receiving an
academic
scholarship and has achieved a 3.00 Cumulative Grade
Point
Average (CGPA).
