Marvin Perry, Myrna Chase, James R. Jacob, Margaret C. Jacob, Theodore H. Von Laue, Western Civilization: Ideas, Politics, and Society, 6th ed. (Boston: Houghton, Mifflin Company, 2000).

Akira Iriye, ed., Pearl Harbor and the Coming of the Pacific War: A Brief History with Documents and Essays (Boston: Bedford/St. Martin’s, 1999).

The professor may, from time to time, assign additional readings to supplement the textbook and other required readings.

Bibliography: Listings of recommended supplemental readings can be found in the principal textbook, Marvin Perry et al., Western Civilization, at the end of each chapter.
