The
Civil War was a great time of stress for the entire nation. Political leaders of both governments had
decisions to make, army commanders had battles to win, and solders had blood to
lose. When studying the Civil War we look
at the causes, the failed compromises to prevent the war, the government
officials, and the military campaigns won and lost. So often we overlook such an important factor that would make
distinct contributions to the side that their husbands and sons fought on.
This
website was created to give an insight on these contributions and the types of
roles that women would play in the Civil War.
