GC Network FUNdamentals

There are a lot of “pieces and parts” to the College's network, and each has its own name. To help you understand what a bree is, and a bilbo and a gandalf, we have prepared a simple PowerPoint presentation.

(This presentation is used as part of an interactive workshop. Consequently the first slide, with its reference to “not logging in”, does not apply of course when you view the presentation online.)

To view the presentation you may either:
  • Click here to view the presentation.
  • Right mouse click here and select Open in a New Window to view the presentation in a new window
While viewing the presentation, you can control various features of the slide show by using these buttons at the bottom of the screen:
  • clickto view the show dynamically, that is, all transitions and animations are included
  • clickto view the show as a static presentation by clicking on the left or right arrows to move back or forward one slide at a time
  • clickto expand or collapse the presentation outline (this button acts as a toggle switch)
  • clickto show or hide the presentation outline (this button acts as a toggle switch)
