Getting Help

Sometime things just do not go smoothly. When you are confronted by that inevitable glitch, who are you going to call?

ITS Help Desk

Information Technology Services maintains a Help Desk in its offices in Cooke Memorial. You may contact this Help Desk

• phone: dial HELP (x4357) from any campus phone
• email:
  • from on campus send email to <helpdesk>
  • from off campus send email to <helpdesk@georgetowncollege.edu>
• in person: just drop in!

ITS is responsible for maintaining and supporting the campus computer network and campus phone system, and any computers connected to the campus network. The Help Desk can

• assist you with any hardware problems and including diagnostics for these problems even for your personal computer (although at certain times of the year, priority must be given to college-owned computers)
• advise and assist if necessary with software installation
• help you with any login problems, forgotten passwords, etc.

The Help Desk can also answer questions concerning how to use systems such as email, Blackboard and PAWS, and can also help you with problems running personal productivity software such as Microsoft Office. However, when it comes to training, to answering questions such as "How can I do this in Word?", that falls upon the T3 Center and its Help Desk.

T3 Center

The Tiger Technology Training Center (hence the name “T3” …) is located in the Periodicals Room of the LRC. 

The T3 Center will be staffed by the Student Technology Mentors most of the hours that the LRC is open.
