Available Labs
For students without access to a computer in their dorm room, the College maintains several computer classrooms and labs on campus. All applications available over the network to residence hall computers are also available on the computers in these classrooms and labs. In addition, some discipline-specific, non-networked applications are available only in certain classrooms and labs.
Information Technology Services ("ITS") maintains 18 computers in the Reference room of the Ensor Learning Resource Center each consisting of Pentium class Windows computers.
The Tiger Technology Training Center ("T3"). which is part of ITS, recently received a grant from the Brown Foundation to upgrade its facilities. The T3 has 24 computers in a classroom setup and another 10 in a mini-lab; the computers are of Pentium class. These computers will have the customary applications for personal productivity available via the campus network, as wells as additional applications for specialty uses.
The Science Division maintains a computer lab with 25 Pentium class computers and seven Power Macintosh computers in the Asher Science Center. This lab, while available to the general student population, gives priority to students in the science division and contains several applications unique to those disciplines.
The Art Department maintains a computer lab consisting of several Power Macintosh computers. This lab gives priority to students in Art classes and contains several applications unique to these classes.
Education and Foreign Languages, with the assistance of ITS, maintain a computer lab consisting of 15 Pentium class computers located in the basement of Anderson Hall. Priority in the use of the lab is given to departments with offices in Anderson Hall.
The computers in the LRC other than those in the classrooms in the basement are available all hours the building is open.
