INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING
NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR FOR MACS OVER THE CAMPUS NETWORK

  1. From the Apple Menu select Chooser and then click the Appleshare icon.
  2. Scroll down the list of File Servers until you find ROSCOE and double click that name.
  3. Enter your network logon ID in the Name: field and your network password in the Password: field and click OK.
  4. Highlight the item "macsoftware" and click ok.  A drive icon named "macsoftware" will appear on your desktop.
  5. Close Chooser.
  6. Open the macsoftware drive on your desktop.
  7. Drag the Comm4.6_Complete_EX icon to your desktop.
  8. Double click the Comm4.6_Complete_EX icon on your desktop.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Click Save.
  11. A Communicator 4.6 Complete folder will appear on your desktop. Click Quit.
  12. Open the Communicator 4.6 Complete folder.
  13. Open the Communicator Module folder.
  14. Double click the Communicator Module icon.
  15. Click Install.
  16. Click Quit after a successful install.
  17. Close the Communicator Module folder.
  18. Close the Communicator 4.6 Complete folder.
  19. Drag the Communicator 4.6 Complete folder to the Trashcan.

Netscape Communicator 4.6 is now installed to your local hard drive in the Netscape Base Install Folder.  Opening this folder and clicking Netscape Communicator will launch the application.
