Residential Networking and Computing

All residence hall rooms at Georgetown College are equipped with one ethernet data connection per student, which with a properly configured computer can be used to connect to the campus wide network and the Internet. The following steps explain the procedure for connecting your computer to the network.

If you are already connected and just need instructions for connecting to the Internet, getting your email, or installing other networked applications, go straight to #4.

  1. Read the Ethics Policy.

  2. If your computer did not come with an ethernet network card you will need to purchase one and install it, or have it installed.
