Virus Protection

ITS provides virus protection for all staff and faculty campus Windows-based computers through a site license with McAfee and Associates for their VirusScan product. Any faculty or staff member with a Campus networked computer can download and install the software. Students may visit any of the sites listed below for a free version of virus protection software.  Installation instructions are available on each of the links.  ITS encourages all computer users on campus to install and regularly update virus protection software.

Free Online Virus Scanners

Listed below are several free virus scanners that don't require you to install any software because they scan your computer via your internet connection.  While this method works, it is very slow and utilizes much of your system resources, therefore it is recommended that you download and install one of the products listed above.
