Symphonic Band
A large instrumental ensemble that performs a wide variety of literature composed, arranged, or transcribed for brass, woodwinds and percussion.  The Symphonic Band performs one on-campus concert each semester, embarks on regional tours, and performs for other campus and community events.  Participation in the Symphonic Band is open to all Georgetown College students, with the permission of the Director.  (1 hour credit)  Rehearsal times:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 4:00 p.m.

Fighting Tiger Grrr ... Pep Band
This ensemble performs at home football and basketball games each semester, and has become a focal point of excitement and enthusiasm for our campus community.  Additionally, the "FTGPB" travels each year on a national scale.  Participation in the Fighting Tiger Grrr ... Pep Band is open to all Georgetown College Students, with the permission of the Director.

Chapel Brass
Registration on approval of the Director.  The ensemble rehearses and performs a wide variety of original and transcribed arrangements at Chapel services, recitals, and other functions.  (1/2 hour credit)

Handbell Ensemble
Registration on approval of the Director.  An ensemble of approximately 10-14 persons engaged in the preparation and performance of music composed for handbells.  (1/2 hour credit)  Rehearsal times:  Monday, Wednesday, 3:00 p.m.

Chamber Ensemble
Registration on approval of the Director.  The ensemble (strings and/or woodwinds) rehearses and performs a wide variety of literature at Chapel services, recitals and other functions.  (1/2 hour credit)

Jazz Ensemble
Registration on approval of the Director.  The ensemble studies jazz, rock and popular music idioms through rehearsals and performances.  (1/2 hour credit)

 

Chorale
An auditioned choral ensemble of approximately 40-45 members.  The Georgetown College Chorale performs a variety of choral repertoire, including major works from the Renaissance through the 20th Century.  Annual tours are taken throughout the United States.  Tours abroad occur every few years.  (1 hour credit)  Rehearsal times:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 12:00 noon.

Concert Choir
This chorus performs larger choral works, including an annual fall presentation of Messiah.  Representative spring works include Brahms' Requiem, Haydn's The Creation, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Handel's Judas Maccabaeus.  (1 hour credit)  Rehearsal times:  Tuesday, Thursday, 3:35 p.m.  (Concert Choir is a non-auditioned ensemble.  Voice majors, minors and other singers receiving music scholarships are required to participate each semester of residence.)

Chamber Singers
An auditioned ensemble of approximately 12-16 voices that performs chamber choral literature.  (1/2 hour credit)
