"Hymn-Tune Based Cornet Solos by American
Composers and Arrangers: 1880-1930"
This lecture-recital was presented in conjunction with
Dr. Lewis' 1999 PEW Summer Research Grant. The video excerpt is
from Rock of Ages (1903) by Charles Lloyd Barnhouse
(1865-1929). Dr. Lewis featured several of the antique cornets in
his collection during the program. This selection was performed on
a C.G. Conn 1898 vocal cornet pitched in Bb.
