SUGGESTED FOUR-YEAR PLAN
FOR THE
BACHELOR OF MUSIC EDUCATION
DEGREE
P-12 VOCAL MUSIC
KENTUCKY CERTIFICATION
ODD FALL ENTRY

(Effective Fall 2002)

IMPORTANT NOTE:  In regard to the B.M.E. curriculum, please note that some courses are offered only on a two-year rotation basis.  Careful academic planning from the very first semester is of the utmost importance.  The following four-year plan is a suggested design for a vocal student entering during an odd fall year.  Even with this suggested plan, including 18 hours each semester, 3 hours of General Education courses must be taken during summer sessions in order to graduate in four years.  Depending upon the number of hours scheduled each semester, it is quite possible for Music Education majors to take more than a four-year period to complete the B.M.E. degree program.

* Taking the four-semester Class Piano sequence will meet the Piano Proficiency requirement.  If the student is able to otherwise pass the proficiency, Class Piano is not required.
