BACHELOR OF CHURCH MUSIC
DEGREE PROGRAM

(Effective Fall 2002)

Forty-five hours including MUS 109 (two semesters), 111, 112, 127, 200, 211, 212, 311, 312, 316, 335, 336, 415, 422, 425, 426, plus an additional thirteen hours in applied music in one field, for a total of 58.  Participation in a primary ensemble is required for each semester of residence.  The piano proficiency requirement must be met, and a senior recital is also required.

Students must have 39 hours numbered 300 and above.  No more than 58 hours in music may be counted toward graduation.

The following are required (58 hours):

109 (x2) = 1 hour 311-312 = 6 hours
111-112 = 8 hours 316 = 3 hours
127 = 2 hours 335-336 = 4 hours
200 = 3 hours 415 = 2 hours
211-212 = 8 hours 422 = 2 hours
Applied = 8 hours 425-426 = 6 hours
  Applied = 5 hours
Total: 30 hours below 300 Total: 28 hours above 300

After the requirements in music have been fulfilled, 11 hours of courses numbered 300 or above must be taken outside of music.  Other upper division courses may be taken in your minor or general requirement areas.  Careful planning from the fall semester freshman year is of the utmost importance.
