In addition to the state-of-the-art computer lab, music recordings and internet research capabilities available in the new Anna A. Ensor Learning Resource Center, the Department of Music is also home of the state-of-the-art Sylvia M. Beard Music Media Center and Piano Studio.  The Beard Lab is equipped with nine music workstations, each with a Roland XP-80 MIDI keyboard, and a computer installed with Finale (notation software) and Cakewalk (sequencing software).  Music theory ear training software is available as well.

The department also utilizes two large-screen Destination System computers equipped with CD-ROM multimedia software in various academic courses, such as Music Appreciation and Music Literature.

Recently acquired via a Goode Grant, a DAT (digital audio on tape) recorder and dual CD recorder/copier are now available for recording concerts and student recitals.

Nunnelley Music Hall has a total of seven practice rooms.  Two are equipped with grand pianos.  Other practice rooms are equipped with one or more upright pianos.
