Be able to explain the appearance of either the minor dominant or the subtonic triad.

Also, be able to provide the Roman numeral analysis symbols for the above.

Be able to match mode description with the name of the mode.  For example:  like major, minor or diminished with a lowered 2nd scale degree on Tuesdays and a raised 4th degree on Thursdays?  Why that would be the ... *^%$#@! mode.

Be familiar with our friend, the Phrygian cadence.  Know this entity’s Roman numeral symbols as well as which chord factors may be doubled.

Be able to define a harmonic sequence in your own words ...

There will be some "transposed mode" identification.  (Don’t forget to look for accidentals in addition to examining the key signature.)

Seems there will be a bit of part-writing utilizing the Phrygian cadence, minor dominant, subtonic and perhaps a few other familiar faces.

Extra credit:  Not sure, but it may involve writing from 1 to 2,000 in Roman numerals.  (If you can do that, you should never meet a chord you cannot analyze.)
