In a major key, you will be asked to indicate which chords are the
following quality: MM7, mm7, Mm7, dm7 (7 total).
In a minor key, you will be asked to indicate which chords are the
following quality: MM7, mm7, dd7, Mm7, dm7 (10 total).
You will be asked to provide the intervallic make-up of the
following chord types: MM7, mm7, Mm7, dm7, dd7. (E.g., MM7
= R, M3, P5, M7)
In regard to melodic minor, you will be asked to indicate the
7th-chord type (MM, Mm, mm, dm, dd) which results if the root is built
on: natural-7, #7, natural-6, #6.
Be familiar with chord factors used / omitted in 3-part and 4-part
writing--in root position and inversion.
For the indicated keys, you will be asked to provide the requested
(via Roman numeral) 7th chords in various clefs (treble, bass, alto).
Part writing: you will be asked to complete the inner voices
from the Roman numeral symbols provided which will avoid potential
parallel fifths when IV7 moves to V. (See F13.)
