There will be five listening examples. You will be asked to
state the usual: song title, artist/band, and a couple of musical
characteristics/decade.
Most questions will be multiple choice. A couple are
fill-in-the-blank or short answer.
Know who inspired British artists, such as the Beatles and
Rolling Stones.
In regard to the Beatles and Stones, know what general camp each
represented, and what types of groups each ultimately inspired.
Be able to describe Altamont ....
From a list of many groups, be able to identify which groups were
among the British invaders. (Refer to the various tables in
the text: 7-1 & 7-2, etc.)
Know who is credited with the "invention" of folk rock–both
a solo artist and a group.
Know why Dylan fans were upset when they heard Subterranean
