Let There Be Grrr...

February 2010
Sights & Scenes of the Band Scholars

Dewey Creech, Tuba
Kacey Stuck, B-Flat Clarinet

... well-represented our Tiger Bands and Georgetown College at the prestigious 2010 Kentucky Intercollegiate Band which rehearsed and performed in Louisville as part of the KMEA In-Service Conference [February 2-5]. The KIB was under the baton of Dr. Craig Kirchhoff and performed in Whitney Hall of the Kentucky Arts Center

Evan James Harrell
Composer-In-Residence

... also at the 2010 KMEA In-Service Conference, our very own Composer-In-Residence found a copy of Legacy Music. We are just starting to see some of the actual publication copies of Legacy Music out and about.

For those of you who perhaps have forgotten, Legacy Music was commissioned by and written expressly for our Tiger Symphonic Band by the internationally-acclaimed composer David R. Holsinger.

Although it is a bit hard to tell from the photo - the cover contains the dedication to our Tiger Bands, and the program notes inside - speak of the history of our College and the writing of the piece.

Brings back extremely fond memories of the Band Gala in 2008.

Grrr...

... and then on the evening of February 11, we had the privilege and pleasure to again welcome "Donnie" to our campus - in a great game in which Hap & Co. prevailed in in convincing manner

Yes, We Love Donnie
