Live Long and Grrr...

"LL&G"

Homecoming 2011
[September 24]

... a great week and weekend in the annual life-cycle of our College ...

a few sights and scenes of our moderately crazed, but always hard-working Band Scholars at yesterday's Homecoming Game as our Tigers prevailed over Shorter College [GA] 21-14

... our Friday Grrr... Rehearsal began as we sent our very best wishes to fellow Band Scholar Tevin, as he finally went home from the hospital in Dallas. Get Well and Get Back Soon TIL!

... although it had been a rather grim and dreary day on Friday, by Grrr... Rehearsal Time - the sun was shining and it was gloriously beautiful down by the LRC [photo by EJH] ...

... over the course of the weekend, it was a tremendous delight to visit with many Alumni Band Scholars, several of the Gem Alumni - and an especially delightful visit from Dr. Charlotte Stickle Elder, one of the 12 original members of the Grrr... Band [circa 1993]

... it has been more than a few years since we featured "Belly Band" and "Back Band" and "Meandering Band" at Toyota Stadium - so we decided the time was ripe ...

... prior to the Homecoming Game, three of our finest Band Scholars, led by Miss Stuck [who had unfortunately had two cups of coffee prior to our performances began], rapping ... trust me, this was a bit alarming

... we had a "WCPHTMBLUTF" [aka Who Can Possibly Have The Most Blank Look Upon Their Face] contest [in Honor of Eddie from last week - see photo below] and although we had several good contenders - Elder Scholar Hunter and Fledgling Nick took this week's prize [I think them drooling upon themselves secured the "win"]...

Grrr...

J.E.W. from last week in case you could have possibly forgotten the ultimate "blank look"

... a time honored tradition with our Tiger Bands is Fledgling Body Spelling ... 'tis true, that we sometime go for some years without sponsoring "FBS" - but yesterday we did - you may see their efforts above ... yes, they are but "babies" but we do love them and know they will grow into being highly productive Band Scholars sometime [and I would prefer sooner rather than later - Grrr] ... these photos all taken by LDP
Right: You may see what we have dubbed the "Tower of Hannah" it was a little awkward but seemed to work during our 3rd quarter antics.

This week our cherished Band Scholar Hannah shall leave and go to England for her term at Oxford. We shall miss HO, but look forward to her return in the spring.

Below: some [particularly our poor, little, innocent Fledglings] seemed to think the infamous ""GT" [aka Grrr... Tattoo] was an urban myth. On Saturday, as the "sun was beating down" some/many realized that there was more fact than fiction to the "GT".

Thanks & Thanks to everyone and all for a great 2011 Homecoming Weekend and your continuing support of the Band Scholars and our Tiger Bands at Georgetown College.
