Electronic Assignments - Music 337

There follows a description of the e-assignments we shall use this semester. We shall establish appropriate "due dates" as we go [depending upon our progress and I shall always let you know about a week in advance when an e-assignment will be due].

Five - Electronic Assignments - EA's
[100 points possible for the five EA Projects]
and

Final Conducting Essay [50 points possible]

During the course of the semester, you will be asked to complete five "Electronic Assignments" otherwise known as EA's [each carrying a value of twenty points]. These are five, very short assignments and when completed, you will get full credit for your efforts. There follows a brief description of these projects, and their respective due dates. Amplification of the projects will be discussed in class. As with all projects, IF THEY ARE NOT COMPLETED ON TIME, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO KEEP THEM. Please completely follow all directions when completing, sending and saving your work.

As always - It is imperative that you have an active email account - and I know what your preferred email address is. When completing an EA - pleasure ensure that in the subject line you put ... Your Name, MUS337 EA# [i.e. Peter LaRue, MUS337 EA#3"] If this format is not followed you shan't receive credit for that particular EA [this is imperative - as I have several filters on my email - and if this format is not followed - I will not receive your assignment. Then complete your assignment and send to ... plarue@georgetowncollege.edu. Sometime soon - I will have installed an "Assignment Submission Form" [similar to that which I use for all other courses I teach] which will greatly simplify the preparation of your Electronic Assignments. I will keep you posted.

By Reading Day [Thursday, May 10], you will have completed and wired to me [following the usual format] your Final Conducting Essay. The Strong FCE will contain your thoughts on conducting, how or have your thoughts have changed since your work in Music 335 and will hopefully illustrate where you currently stand in your growth as a young conductor. It is wise to draw from your own experience and other readings and discussions from the semester. The successful FCE should be no less than two and no more than four pages in length.
