Attendance/Class Participation

Attendance will be noted regularly. As these courses involves class participation, discussions and lectures, regular attendance is essential for the successful completion of either Music 335 or Music 337. Punctuality is an essential trait in the conducting profession. To this end, tardiness will not be tolerated.

Two unexcused absences will result in the lowering of your grade by one letter. Two tardies will equal one unexcused absence. If you are ill, or have a personal or family emergency, please let the instructor know. These situations will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Class Participation is just that - Scholars are expected to add, in a meaningful fashion, to discussions. Just sitting does nor indicate mental engagement and the fifty (50) points in this category will be reflective of this standard.

As mentioned previously, late work will not be accepted. If you complete an assignment late, please feel free to keep it.
