Dear ~ New
Music 315 Scholars,

Welcome to 2008 in general, and the new Spring Semester in particular. I hope you had a great holiday break and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our wonderful world of music for the classroom.

Over the years, being a Music 315 Scholar has grown in popularity - and I have added, adjusted and "tweaked" the course to be responsive to the needs of each class. As such, you are enjoying "something old, something new - something borrowed, something blue".

This semester is a special one ~ because you shall now add your voice to the world of Music 315 Scholars. Also, this shall be the second year since we moved from the old 3-hour format, to the new 2-hour version. I think [hope/pray] that I have been able to retain the best of the class offering.

In this course we will spend a great deal of time devising strategies and gaining skills with and about music which will enhance your future classroom settings and educational environments. Some of you have a broad and rich background in music, some of you do not. This class is designed to suit the needs of all. Our work in this course is very exciting as we begin to unlock and explore the plethora of ways in which music and musical activities may enrich the lives and learnings of your future students. I have made several revisions to the class and to the Music 315 web that I hope will greatly strengthen your overall experience this semester. So now let's get down to business ...

Most Warmly,
Peter LaRue
