Welcome ~ New
Music 315 Scholars

Well, I hope that you had a great summer vacation and that you are now ready for – and excited about the new 2009-2010 academic year in general – and this Fall Semester in particular. I am delighted that you have chosen to be a part of our ever-growing Music 315 Clan, in the new "fall section" of this special offering … and I most sincerely hope that you find the experience to be both musically rewarding and personally enjoyable.

Over the years, being a Music 315 Scholar has grown in popularity and I have added, adjusted and "tweaked" the course to be responsive to the needs of each class. As such, you are enjoying "something old, something new something borrowed, something blue".

In this course we will spend a great deal of time devising strategies and gaining skills with and about music which will enhance your future classroom settings and educational environments. Some of you have a broad and rich background in music, some of you do not. This class is designed to suit the needs of all. Our work in this course is very exciting as we begin to unlock and explore the plethora of ways in which music and musical activities may enrich the lives and learnings of your future students. I have made several revisions to the class and to the Music 315 web that I hope will greatly strengthen your overall experience this semester. So now let's get down to business ...

Most Warmly,
Peter LaRue
