Quizzes & Final
Examination
Quizzes
During the course of the semester there will be two quizzes [Q1 and Q3] carrying a
point value of fifty (50) each and two quizzes [Q2A and Q2B] each
carrying a point value of twenty-five (25) each. These quizzes will be spaced about three to
four weeks apart as indicated in the course outline. The specific date
for a Quiz will always be announced at least one week in advance. The projected
dates for the Q's are as follows ...
Quiz #1 [QI] - Tuesday, February 8

#2A [QIIA] - Wednesday, February 16
Special Note Regarding
Q2A
... this will be a reflective piece based upon the quote ... "the soft
bigotry of lowered expectations" ... you shall submit it to me
electronically using the Assignment Submission Form - under "Other" ... we
shall talk more about this later - this is something new ...
Quiz #2B [Q2B] - Thursday, March 3
Quiz
#3 [QIII] - Tuesday, April 26
*Note*
For the past few years - we have "experimented" with the concept
of "virtual" quizzes upon occasion. A "virtual" quiz is sent to you both
via email - and posted on our Music 315 web under the Virtual Scholar
area. We might take advantage of this format again this semester - but we
might not [as the new Q2A - will be submitted electronically anyway - as
it is a "reflective" piece]. The virtual quiz concept has made sense and proven helpful to past scholars. I shall keep you
posted on this.
Final
Examination
A
comprehensive examination will be given in this course carrying a total
point value of fifty (50). The examination will be scheduled by the
Office of the Registrar.
For
the Spring 2011 Semester the Final Examination will be
Tuesday, May 10th at 9:00 AM
