Course Needs

Text: Burnsed, C. Vernon (1993, et al).  The classroom teacher's guide to music education.  Springfield, IL: Charles C. Thomas. [whichever edition is currently available 2nd or 3rd or whatever edition] - Suggested Text - Not Required

Recorder: A recorder may purchased very inexpensively from the campus bookstore and will be utilized rather often during the course of this class - A Must Have.

Handouts & Resource Materials: An extensive series of handouts and Resource Materials are listed on this Music 315 Web-Page. These materials are designed to further engage each student and enhance their understanding of the use of music in the classroom. It is suggested that you download and print out these materials and keep a notebook with these and all class other materials for your future reference.

Electronic Assignments & Web Information: As in 2001 I moved the entire substance and nature of Music 315 - Public School Music - to a web environment, it is essential that you have easy access to a computer [either personal or in one of the many computer labs on campus] The Music 315 web-page is best viewed in Internet Explorer - and I would encourage you to "bookmark" the location for easy reference in the future. As many/most of the assignments will be submitted via email [through the "Assignment Submission Form"] - it is also essential that you have an active email address which you use and check regularly.
