Welcome to 2008 in general and this Spring Semester in particular. I am so glad that you have chosen to join the ever-growing "throng" of Music 107 Section A students - that are fondly known as "8:00 Scholars".

I consider it a distinct professional privilege and personal pleasure to welcome you to ScholarNet, designed for the welfare and betterment of 8:00 Scholars everywhere. ScholarNet is a place where you may find useful course information, aids and assistance which should enhance your understanding of the wonderful world of music and enable you to be successful in Music 107. I hope you enjoy your visit.

Eight years ago (after reflecting upon the possible change for several semesters) I completely re-formatted the 8:00 Scholar Experience - and these changes have seemingly proven successful. During the Fall 2003 and Spring 2004 Semesters we added the concept of "V" [aka Virtual] versus "RT" [aka Real-Time] evaluation [on "MT's" and "T's"] to our offerings - which has seemingly been very successful. Grrr... During the Fall 2004 Semester I reformatted ScholarNet Main, "tweaked" a few areas and made a few other changes. During the Spring 2006 semester, we added "DLD" [aka Discussion - Listening Days] which have also proven to be very successful and during the Fall 2007 semester we added several "video clips" to the lecture series and we shall continue both of these during the Spring 2008 semester.

For our efforts this spring, I have further "tweaked" ScholarNet  - which I hope shall increase your overall learning and enjoyment as an 8:00 Scholar. As such, we shall call this ScholarNet Version 5.35.

Most Warmly,
Pete LaRue
