Welcome to the 2009-2010 Academic Year in general and this 2009 Fall Semester in particular. I am so glad that you have chosen to join the ever-growing "throng" of Music 107 Section A students - that are fondly known as the "8:00 Scholars".

I consider it a distinct professional privilege and personal pleasure to welcome you to ScholarNet, designed for the welfare and betterment of 8:00 Scholars everywhere. ScholarNet is a place where you may find useful course information, aids and assistance which should enhance your understanding of the wonderful world of music and enable you to be successful in Music 107. I hope you enjoy your visit.

I most sincerely hope that you find the 8:00 Scholar Experience to be both musically rewarding and personally enjoyable. Please know – with each passing year, with each passing semester – my love for the experience deepens, my commitment to the experience increases. It is my continuing goal to provide for each of you a pertinent background in the wonderful art form called music; which will hopefully hold you in good stead throughout the rest of your life.

As I do each semester, I have made some changes and adjustments to the course and I hope these changes shall enhance the overall value of the class for you. This will be the thirty-third semester since the founding of the 8:00 Scholar Experience and the eighteenth in which we have used the new, improved, way-too-cool, high-tech, award-winning ScholarNet [now Version 5.50] and as such I hope you find it to be most delightful. All course information, requirements, assignments, grading and attendance procedures, evaluation and class schedule, module notes, plus a veritable plethora of other information may be found here on ScholarNet.

Most Warmly,
Pete LaRue
