Honors Awards Given by the Religion Department Outstanding Student in Greek Each year the American Bible Society makes available a
leather bound Greek New Testament or other award suitable for a student of New
Testament Greek. Weller Award Each year the Religion Department recognizes an outstanding
rising senior with a monetary credit award toward books in Religion. The prize
was established by Miss Grace Weller, class of 1936, and named for her parents
Ernest J. and Kathryn Weller. Hilke Award Every other year the Department awards an academic
scholarship funded by Mr. James Hilke in honor of his wife Adda F. Layton Hilke
and his sister Ruth Hilke, both Georgetown alumnae. Outstanding Senior Award The Department annually recognizes its outstanding graduating major with a significant book in the field of religion.
