Requirements and Suggested Sequence of Courses for a Religion Major

Catalog Description:

(B. A. Degree) Thirty-three semester hours including REL 231, 233, 235, 237, 301 or 303, 329 or 411, 371 or 372, 450, and nine additional hours in the Religion Department plus allied courses PHI 355 and two courses chosen from HIS 338, MUS 422, and SOC 309. Minimum hours required: 41

Courses for years one and two

Required courses: REL 231, 233, 235, 237

Possible other courses: REL 111 (Even Springs), 211 (Fall)

Courses for years three and four

Required courses: 

REL 301 (Even Springs) and/or 303 (Odd Springs)

REL 329 (Fall) and/or 411 (Spring)

REL 371 (annually) and/or 372 (Odd Falls)

REL 450 (Odd Falls)

Possible other courses: REL 311 (Odd Springs), 319 (Even Falls), 325 (Even Springs), 327 (Odd Springs), 341 (Odd Falls), 343 (Even Springs), 360, 375, 440

Allied courses: PHI 355 (Odd Falls); two of the following: HIS 338 (Odd Springs), MUS 422 (Odd Falls), SOC 309 (Even Springs)

Note: REL 103, 104, 203 will satisfy the College's foreign language requirement, or two courses in Greek may count as one course toward a religion major or minor.  Courses in Greek will not count for both.
