Slide and Title Masters
Every PowerPoint presentation contains four different Masters.
These are special slides that are hidden and serve as templates.
They control the appearance (size, color, location, etc.) of all of the
objects that can be placed on a slide (regular or title slide), on audience
handouts, and on speaker's notes:
- Slide Master
- affects each slide of the presentation except Title Slides
- anything added to, deleted from, or anything modified on the Slide
Master will change every slide in the presentation except those based
upon the Title Slide layout
- Title Master
- affects only slides based upon the Title Slide layout
- anything added to, deleted from, or anything modified on the Title
Master will change every slide in the presentation based upon the
Title Slide layout
- slides based upon other layouts are not affected
- Handout Master
- controls elements on the handouts that you print
- Notes Master
- controls elements on the notes pages that you print
Viewing Master Slides
- choose View


Master
and
then select the desired master from the pop-up submenu

Note that in the case of the Slide and Title Masters, there are placeholders
for each of the elements on these slides, You can, if you wish,
- change the font, font size, font style, bullet style, and so forth for
each of these elements
- change the bullet characters
- change text alignment or color
- change the position of any element simply by moving the object to a
different position on the slide
- add or delete graphic elements on the slides
- change the color of any graphic element or the background
- etc.
The Notes and Handouts Masters are similar.
When you are finished working with any Master
- click

(this
button generally appears when a Master is being viewed)
- or choose View

Excuse Me But the Title Master Command is Not Available!
If you choose View

Master
and
the Title Master command is not available in the submenu, there are a variety
of reasons. To remedy this situation, simply reapply the Design Template
- choose Format
